Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT) and Bureau d’intégration des nouveaux arrivants de Montréal (BINAM)

Economic Study for the Professional Integration of Newcomers in Montreal

Mandate and context

In 2021, nearly 25% of the Montreal population is of immigrant origin; this proportion could reach 35% by 2041. In this context, the CPMT and BINAM wish to better understand the contribution of immigrants to the labour market in order to launch relevant initiatives that promote their professional integration.

Implementation and solutions

Volume10 conducted an economic study on the professional integration of immigrants in Montreal. In addition to analyzing North American and European best practices in this area, the firm organized consultations with experts and community groups, as well as co-creation workshops with BINAM teams, to develop a strategic plan and vision.

Impact and outcomes

The City of Montreal has adopted the first integration strategy of the plan designed by Volume10. In addition, the collaboration and financing agreement between the City of Montreal, the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration and the Ministère du Travail, de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale has been renewed.
